Baby Boomers - 5 Tips on Maintaining a Healthy, Active and Productive Lifestyle

They say my generation is getting older. And as a result, we have to do more things to stay on track to live a long and productive life. We always equate having a productive and active lifestyle with maintaining a healthy body. Once you feel good, your body immediately leads you to a productive and active lifestyle. Allow me to give you five great things that you can do to maintain
your body and even add years to your life.

Here they are:

1) Walking up and down the stairs on your porch or even in coming and leaving the office doesn’t count as an exercise. With my age, it is but needed that our muscles would stretch so as to provide with the muscle tone and give a higher level of serotonin in the brain. I strongly suggest to have an exercise at least twenty minutes each day. Have you ever noticed how your body feel
after you exercise? You will then feel good and look good. This way, you would have a balance overall. You will never feel tired, and will definitely be productive at work.

2) Maintain a well-balanced diet. Our bodies. We are what we eat as people would say. Appearance defines one person. I remember when my granny tells us how to eat our meals. She says, in the morning, We have to eat like a king. At noon, eat like a prince and at night, we have to eat like a pauper. Baby boomers, to be productive and be able to have an active lifestyle, we should not only be conscious on the amount of the food we eat but with what we eat as well. These days, my generation are always on the go and the only food that one can grab are those pre-packaged snack foods, or some greasy fast food. Yes, we may save time but we are only allowing our bodies feel useless and worn out in the long run. Therefore we need to ensure that we get the proper amount of vitamins and nutrients so that we have the energy to be on the go all day long.

3) Make lists, and check them twice. He’s making a list and checking it twice gonna find out who’s naughty or nice. But hey, do you think what  Santa sang would be perfect to have a healthy active and productive body? What’s the connection? Though it may take time to write those chores and responsibilities in a list, you can always plan things  ahead of time. Time is precious and for you to  accomplish these tasks, you have to learn to prioritize things such as which would come first and  which would come next. Plan your day ahead, know what to do, by then, you will be able to achieve a productive lifestyle.

4) Get a good night of sleep. With my age, we have to stay asleep for seven to nine hours. For sure when you have a good night sleep, you’ll definitely feel good, and have an active and productive lifestyle. So often when sleep falls to the wayside, and insomnia becomes a regular part of our routine because of other habits we have that throw our bodies out of balance. You have to take care of your body, ignore those restlessness and you create a healthier person. When you wake up, you will feel refreshed and active.

5) Don’t sweat the small stuff. Lastly but not the least, just be clam. Learn to live one day at a time and you won’t have to be stressed. Learn how to prioritize and realize that some aspects of our lives are not worth getting upset about.
