The Art Of Brewing Beer
December 19th, 2011Ever wondered at how the beer that you love to drink every night gets to be that way? The process in brewing beer can be interesting to learn particularly if your palette proves to be quite attracted to it. Beer has been around for ages and it has been “brewing” so to speak in almost all parts of the world where you will find each place with their very own local secret to contribute to the art of brewing beer their own way and to their own specific taste.
In general, there can be three main methods found to be means of brewing beer and among the three the easiest by far is the kit brewing. For this one, even first-timers can be guaranteed to learn how to brew one’s beer far too easily. Why the name “kit-brewing” is due to the fact that it comes like a “kit” where all ingredients are measured out to help make things easy for you to come up with an accurate result.
Another method is extract brewing. Now for this one, surely purists would agree that this is by far a better process than any of the three given methods. Here, a ready mashed up syrup can be bought where all you need to do is to add the hops and yeast separately. People who want a higher degree of control over the final taste would surely want to go for this method. Finally, a third method comes in the form of a full mash. This however should be for those with a great deal of experience to do because the margin for error in this method can be somewhat significant if you come inexperienced. But if you should be quite well in handling beer brewing, this method would help you show off your creation to all willing beer drinkers. The fact that this is one method which requires brewers to purchase all ingredients in its raw state and start a beer recipe from scratch is enough to state that this is one risky brewing.
Malted barley this is where everything starts. In beer brewing the process starts off with the ingredient that is highly responsible for the alcohol content and that is barley. Take note that the more barley there is in a mixture the higher the alcohol content of your beverage is. And so your barley is ground to grist before hot water is mixed and do note that your starch content can only convert to sugar fully well when you give it a chance to settle for about an hour or so. More ingredients are required such as hops and yeast before the brewing process comes to an end and then you can finally serve your very own brewed beer.
